Paediatric urology is a highly specialised practice, which covers all medical problems that affect the genitals or urinary tract of infants and young children. - Antenatal hydronephrosis
This refers to an enlarged kidney that is generally diagnosed in babies before birth
Fluid accumulates in the scrotum, causing swelling.

- Neurogenic bladder
This condition causes problems with the bladder and may require surgery.
- Spina bifida
The spinal cord does not close properly during a baby's development and needs to be repaired. This may affect bladder function.
- Undescended testes
One or both testicles do not move down into the scrotum during a baby's development and may require surgery.
- Vesicoureteral reflux
This condition causes urine to back up from the bladder to the ureter.
- Ureteropelvic junction obstruction
The flow of urine is blocked between the ureter and the kidneys.
