Female Urology

Dr Maharajh diagnoses, manages and treats a range of female urology conditions.   • Urinary incontinence
    This condition refers to a loss of control of urination. There are three main types: stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and overflow incontinence.
  • Overactive bladder
    Patients with an overactive bladder feel the need to urinate suddenly and very frequently.
  • Voiding dysfunction
    This condition involves the abnormal filling or emptying of the bladder, and includes three types: urinary frequency, urinary urgency and painful urination.
  • Urinary tract infection
    This infection occurs when an infectious organism enters the urethra and spreads into the urinary tract.
  • Bladder infection
    This infection occurs in the bladder, causing pain and discomfort
  • Interstitial cystitis
    This refers to inflammation of the bladder wall.

Dr Suhani Maharajh is a Specialist Urologist in Durban. After completing her undergraduate training summa cum laude at Nelson R Mandela School of medicine, she pursued her true passion and qualified as a urologist in 2012 and was awarded the Lionel B Goldscmidt Medal.
